An ideal location in an exceptional site! Located on the east coast of Sainte-Marie Island, still preserved from mass tourism, Bohara Village is a hotel made of 12 charming villas, all with sea view. It is set in natural surroundings, facing the great lagoon protected by an imposing coral reef. A truly unique experience awaits you in Bohara Village.

For your comfort, the 12 Malachi style villas are located in a tropical park. They all face the lagoon and enjoy a private terrace.

The villas are built out of palissandre wood and traditional materials, respectful of the environment. They are fully equipped with all facilities: shower room, separate toilets, mosquito nets, individual safes, laundry service and a sophisticated decoration, ranking the Bohara Village as a charming hotel.

At siesta time, you will enjoy a nap in your hammock on you private terrace or between two coconut trees, rocked by the gentle noise of the sea in the background.

Restaurant
Boraha Village’s restaurant enjoys an excellent reputation. Local dishes are on the lunch menu. For dinner, you will be spoilt for choice with a varied and original gourmet menu.

Your breakfast will be served either in the restaurant or on your private terrace. Unless you choose to have it at the end of the pontoon, where you will be the only witness of the sun rise…

In our restaurant, located on the terrace, you will enjoy dishes made only with the freshest ingredients. A mixture of exotic flavours and French classics will be served in a warm ambiance.

Fish, lobster and grilled shell fish of the day, vanilla duck, crab “à l’entonnoir”, tuna steak, ginger chicken, fish tartar, zebu steak…and delicious desserts you will only find on the island.
A wine list from France and South Africa will complement your meal.

Activities
The island can be visited on foot, by mountain bike, by motorcycle or by quad, from one village to the other, on sandy roads, tracks or paths along the coast, across superb vegetation. The island has many treasures to discover: walking, swimming, diving, pirates’ history, meeting with the humpback whales and tasting coco punch while watching the sunset.

Considered as one of the finest sites in the Indian Ocean, Sainte-Marie Island offers an unspoilt area for keen divers. You will have the chance to discover a very rich sea fauna consisting of a great variety of tropical fish which live in the ship wrecks.

In order to bring you the best possible service, you will be able to book diving lessons and prepare various diving certificates such as SSI, PADI and NASE at the diving centre IL BALENOTTERO run by Massimo Felici, Snorkeling is also available in the beautiful wild lagoon that surrounds Boraha Village. You will also have the possibility to go to the “Ilots aux Sables” to discover many colourful fish in the coral reef.

Open: All year round. The east breeze is particularly welcome from October through March and tends to dispel mosquitoes. It can be rather strong from June through September.
