Nestled amongst the trees, lies the magical "Follies". Built over 100 years ago by Sir Hesketh Bell, one of the first British governors to Mauritius, a flamboyant character, at once an eccentric and a man of vision, Sir Hesket transformed this unique site at the beginning of the 20c. into a place of magic, where anything is possible. The result was a real architectural folly, a villa mixing various influences and styles: a clever mix of British and Moorish architecture with a Mauritian-style interior. Now completely renovated, whilst scrupulously keeping to the intentions of its creator, the villa allies contemporary comfort with the elegance of days gone by. You will be unable to resist the charm of Riyad, typical of an Arab medina, its fountain and orange trees.

Known as "Follies", the building's architectural style is characterised by a mixture of styles, where British and Moorish influences mingle.
